An experienced group of Scouters will lead the Circle Ten Council's World Jamboree troops.
Circle Ten Council Contingent Leader
Charles Holmes is the Jamboree Chairman for Circle Ten Council and is the BSA Southern Region World Jamboree Vice-Chairman. He is an Eagle Scout and has served as a uniformed leader for Troop 70 for over 30 years, 11 of which have been as Scoutmaster. Charles is Wood Badge trained and has served as a staff member on eleven courses being a course director. Currently Charles is a member of the Wood Badge Committee, the International Committee, an Associate Lodge Advisor for the Mikanakawa Lodge, and is coordinating camp inspections for Area 3 for the Southern Region. This will be Charles' fifth World Jamboree experience and fourteenth overall jamboree. Charles and his wife Deborah have been married for 30 years, and they have two sons, both Eagle Scouts.
Troop 202
Hudson Lockett, Scoutmaster Hudson Lockett is an experienced Scouter with National and World Jamboree experience. He has served as an Assistant Scoutmaster at the 1977 and 1981 National Jamborees and as a Scoutmaster for the 2001 National Jamboree. He also served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for the 2003 World Jamboree in Thailand and as a sub-camp staff member at the 2005 National Jamboree. Hudson has served as an Assistant Scoutmaster, Merit Badge Counselor, as well as Eagle Advisor for his Troop 70 in Dallas. He is a Brotherhood Member of the Mikanakawa Lodge and has assisted the North Trail District in the Friends of Scouting campaigns. Hudson is an architect in Dallas owning his own firm. He is the son of an Eagle Scout and a proud father of an Eagle Scout making three generations of Eagles in the family. Hudson and his wife Kathy have been married for 25 years.
Dr. Carter Hallmark, Assistant Scoutmaster Dr. Carter Hallmark has been actively involved in scouting for 39 years. He has attended four National Jamborees, one as a youth 1960, frequent visitor in 1997, Assistant Scoutmaster 2001, and subcamp staff 2005. He has attended the National Order of the Arrow Conference four times and served as Assistant Scoutmaster for the Eagle Scout exchange to Ireland. Whether he is hiking the trails at Philmont, canoeing the boundary waters in Canada, or fishing for peacock bass in Brazil with his son (an Eagle Scout) Carter likes to have fun. He is currently an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 508 (formerly Scoutmaster), District Nominating Chairman (formerly District Chairman), and Associate Lodge Advisor for Mikanakawa Lodge. Carter has been married for 30 years to his wife Connie, and they have a son, a daughter, and one grandson. Carter is very active in his Rotary Club. He is a general dentist in Irving, when not busy with Scouting or Rotary.
Dr. Alan Barber, Assistant Scoutmaster Dr. Alan Barber is an Eagle Scout and Wood Badge trained. He is currently an Assistant Scoutmaster and Advancement Chairman for Troop 714 in Carrollton. He has over 20 years of combined youth and adult Scouting experience and has attended three National Jamborees (one as a Scout and two as an Assistant Scoutmaster in 2001 and 2005). He was an Assistant Scoutmaster for a BSA Jamboree troop at the 20th World Jamboree in Thailand in 2003 and on the international service team as an orthopedic surgeon at the central Jamboree hospital at the 19th World Jamboree in Chile. He has also served as an advisor for a Philmont Kanik adventure. He has been married to Sherry for 27 years, and they have three children - two sons who are Eagle Scouts and a daughter who was very active in Girl Scouts and Venturing. He is an orthopedic surgeon practicing sports medicine in Plano.
Carson Holmes, Assistant Scoutmaster Carson received his Eagle Scout award in January 2004. He has served as an Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Quartermaster, and Senior Patrol leader, receiving the Aubrey Pollard Award in 2005 as the outstanding Scout in Troop 70. Carson in a Brotherhood member in the Order of the Arrow, attended the 2001 and 2005 National Scout Jamborees, as well as the 2002 World Jamboree in Thailand. He is a freshman at the University of North Texas. His hobbies included girls and playing the guitar.
Troop 203
Don Wendell, Scoutmaster Don Wendell is an Eagle Scout with 27 years of combined youth and adult Scouting experience. He has attended four National Jamborees - 1964 as a youth, 1997 and 2001 as a Scoutmaster, and 2005 as a member of the Arena Show Staff. Don has also served as an advisor for two Philmont treks and a Philmont Kanik adventure. He is currently an Assistant Council Commissioner. He has also been a Scoutmaster, Venturing Advisor, and District Committee Chair. Other involvement includes staffing several Wood Badge courses, serving as an OA Associate Advisor, and serving on the Circle Ten Council Jamboree Committee. He has been married to his wife Kay for 33 years, and they have two children - a son who is an Eagle Scout and a daughter who holds the Girl Scout Gold Award. Don is employed by the City of Plano as the Director of Parks and Recreation.
John Stone, Assistant Scoutmaster John Stone is the current Scoutmaster and Eagle Advisor for Troop 1776 in the Plano/Murphy area of the Great Plains District. Prior to being selected as Scoutmaster, he was an Assistant Scoutmaster, serving as the training coordinator and experienced Scouts counselor. John served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for the 2005 National Jamboree. He is a Brotherhood Member of the Mikanakawa Lodge, is Wood Badge trained, and will be staffing Wood Badge 83 at Philmont in August 2007. John has been married to his wife Alice for 19 years and has two daughters and a son, who is active with Troop 1776 as an Eagle Scout with a gold palm. John is a tax partner for a CPA firm in Dallas, and enjoys running in his spare time.
Ramsay Ellis, Assistant Scoutmaster Ramsay Ellis is the current Scoutmaster for Troop 999, which serves the west Plano area of the Great Plains District. Additionally, he serves as an Eagle Project advisor, Order of the Arrow Troop Advisor, Philmont Trek Advisor, and Leadership Patrol Mentor. Prior Troop 999, his roles included Committee Member and Assistant Scoutmaster in charge of the First Year Scout program. While living in Europe, Ramsay held several positions with Pack 466 in Charlemagne District of the Transatlantic Council. Wood Badge trained, Ramsay is an active Wood Badge staff member. He is an Order of the Arrow brotherhood member of the Mikanakawa lodge. His interests outside of Scouting include travel, motorcycling, photography, and shooting sports. Ramsay and his wife Sharon, also a very active Scouter, have been married for 16 years and have one son who is a Life Scout.
Cameron Barber, Assistant Scoutmaster Cameron Barber is an Eagle Scout with six silver palms and formerly the Senior Patrol Leader for his home Troop 714 in Carrollton. He is a Brotherhood member of the OA and in addition to council summer camps has attended two BSA National Jamborees, one in 2001 and in 2005 where he served as the Jamboree troop Senior Patrol Leader. He also attended the 20th World Jamboree in Thailand in 2003 where he served as a Patrol Leader in his BSA Jamboree troop. His leadership training include Oak leaf, Golden Acorn, and the National Junior Leader Instructor Course at Philmont. He attends Frisco High School and has special interests in German and teen council.
